trouble with insulin pen

Why do you have to throw it out 30 days after you open it? They are alot left in my pen, and it cost too much to toss.

It losses its potency so you have to toss it. If you have some left with you, than it means you are not taking 2 shots per day and taking it every day. I think it should not left out as it is prescribe by doctor for specif time and of fixed dose.

You can take a permanent marker and write the state date on your Byetta and see how long it takes you to finish. There are exactly 60 doses.
It could be you are not injecting a full dose. It works great to inject, count to 10 while pressing on the end of the pen, then remove the needle. That ensures that the full dose is given. That is a problem for some people, and they wonder why their numbers are not better.
