Wow,I am on the phone with my boyfriend right now, and we were debating diabetes, and we were trying to find out how you got it, or what types of diabetes there is. Obviously people with diabetes have to be more precise as regards their carbohydrate intake, the crucial factor that governs the blood sugar level. To avoid the end organ damage, they also have to monitor their fat and protein intake.
Seeking help from dietician can be best bet to acquire good insight into diet that can help you attain your “sugar-level” goals. Also inculcating healthy exercise and apt medications in every day life are must to ensure normal sugar parameters in diabetics. Along with normal average sugar levels (A1C), one must have normal blood pressure and cholesterol levels when suffering from diabetes.
Top 8 diabetic diet guidelines given by experts are as follows:
(1) Have multi-faceted diet approach while on diabetic diet. When you eat wide varieties of foods, you tend to eat almost all veggies, fruits, nuts and sprouts.
(2) For people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, importance of fiber in diet is unquestioned. At least 25-35 grams of fiber per day help you keep your sugars and LDL cholesterol in check.
(3) Have 5-6 smaller meals per day instead of 2 heavy meals. Limiting your calories per meal goes a long way in regulating your bloods sugar level. You can seek expert’s help for sizing your meals. You definitely should avoid having excess calories that may further reduce sensitivity to insulin.
(4) Skipping meals is a strict ‘no’ for diabetics. Especially if you are on medication, you must stick to your meal and medication timings.
(5) Though table sugar need not be stopped completely, you must ensure that it is just the part of overall healthy meal plan. Reading food labels for sugar content may help. Also try to substitute the sugar intake by avoiding other starchy food for that day, so that total carbohydrate intake can be restricted to stipulated amount.
(6) The tact of adjusting insulin dosage as per your carbohydrate intake should be learnt from an expert.
(7) Monitoring the total carbohydrate intake and regular checking of blood sugar level is the key of healthy diet plan for diabetics. If this is properly maintained, there is little need to go for stricter diets.
(8) Alcohol is the culprit for enhancing your sugars if taken regularly and uncontrollably. Have only moderate alcohol and it is better to seek expertise on “how much is moderate?”

i think that this is a measure problem .we all let 2 know about this in villages, it spread more more and more and cities are the way for this disease.

my sister is having diabetes from last 9 years. she is in 7 std....... we r gvng her insulin. human mixtard...... as her sugar reaches 570 sumtyms, bt still she has no problem.......... is it really a diabetes or sumthing else... plz suggest..........

I found the info in your article very informative. I would like to share with those who have diabetes what my friend is doing. He is a Type I diabetic and has been for about 23 years. He is currently in a study using a product that is made from Argentine calf liver...it is called Diabetic Male Enhancement. You could probably google the name and find the place where it is sold. But my friend is having great results with it. He said his energy levels increased right away and he has reduced the amount of his insulin twice. I probably shouldn\'t mention this, but he experiences serious E.D. but since he started taking the product with the research study, he is really doing good. Yeah for calf liver.

hi, congrats for doing such a good job.well, this is for my mother who is 53yrs old.she is lean and her height is 5\'3.Since two years her cholesterol levels are seen to rising yet she falls in in the marginal level, though not high its 215 now while it was 199 two years back.similarly her blood sugar level was 89 in march 2009 while it has risen to 99 this month.her BP fell in the normal range,but was marked with some abnormality in ECG done.she practices yoga regularly and is a pure vegetarian..please comment on this rising levels of cholesterol, sugar levels though normal.reasons

Information on Diabetes in this forum are too helpful for exploring cause effects and treatment of this disease. Thanx to you all for such a great job.


I would like to ask Ramchandran ji that in the home made remedy by Dr Tony it is Wheat flour or simply what seeds. All other ingredient are in seed form so I'm bit confused. Because by adding wheat flour it will be sticky gel type mixture. So how to extract water from that sticky paste.
