Very-Long-Acting Insulin: insulin that takes effect almost within 1 hour of administering the dose and that which continues to work for 24 hours after the dose.
Very Low Density Lipoprotein (VLDL) Cholesterol: a type of cholesterol found in the blood. A high level of this cholesterol could indicate cardiovascular disease.
Vitrectomy: a surgical procedure wherein the vitreous humor which has become cloudy is removed from the eye and this is substituted with a salt solution.
Vitreous Humor: is a clear, transparent gel that is found in front of the retina and the back of the lens of the eye.
